So the time has come. The Red Ring of death has hit Home Base. As you can see from the picture the mighty 360 is perched high above all other components. There is at least 5 inches above the nearest piece of equipment and even has maximum air flow on the bottom. The 360 was treated with care and treated as a king set high above everything none the less the ring has come. My biggest fear is that the red ring appears at random and is not consistent. I fear it will get to the repair center and it will not be diagnosed correctly and I’ll just be without my 360 for nothing.
So…..I called Microsoft…..I could barely understand anything she said… On the positive side, she was very helpful and didn’t make me jump through a bunch of hoops. At the time of the call the 360 was in a constant state of RROD. Nothing would help….all was lost. Shortly after getting my tracking number and confirming that the coffin was coming to the correct address, I tried to power it up one more time and it sprung to life! I’ll attach the pretty picture above in hopes that they will fix it and give me more heat sinks.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackAw that sucks. You know there’s a problem when my feelings about mine are not “I hope it doesn’t happen to me”, but “I hope it doesn’t happen until I finish Bioshock.”
But don’t let the fact that it booted later fool you — my work kit started working again after some problems, but it just got worse and more frequent until it REALLY died hard.
