I was one of the many that went out early on a Sunday morning release to retrieve the “Halo” of Wii. I purchase it from our Best Buy Link on our site and it was waiting for me at customer service when I got there. Mini Me and I were in and out in no time and quickly made it back to the lab to test it out.
We jumped into the story mode to play it co-op. The first moments were full of drama and once again it was a fair maiden that was taken away for us to relentlessly pursue. The game play was an atypical scroller and it did have me hooked. My only complaint so far was if you fall down a bloody hole you were lost and it seemed to happen over and over, especially for mini Me. The camera angle took a different approach than I have found in other games, it always focused on player 1….always. There would be a little bubble that would pop up and let you know where you were. If you were off screen you took a steady tick of damage for a penalty. The bubble wouldn’t just point you to where you were but it actually showed your toon in various action poses…jumping, hanging, running. It took a little bit of getting used to because of the fact that miny Me has a strong desire to be P1.
All that being said the first 60 minutes ended of being 6 hours of non-stop fun with Mini Me. So far it is a solid Wii game and it is proving to be a must buy for all Wii owners. There is an absolute ton of features to the game that I haven’t even began to touch. I hope to write a full review for you in the coming weeks.
For now you will just have to be happy with the GT Video Review that I have attached for your viewing.
