hands-on-review-call-of-duty-4modern-warfare

I have managed to play through the game to its completion. There were some parts that were rather tricky but all and all it was balanced very well and the game pushed along nicely. It was hard to put down and it kept having me come back for more. Well lets get into it.

Story

The story behind it all was nicely done. As I stated before I am a bigger fan of modern day warfare and I am a bit tired of playing WWII over and over. The movie game takes place in Russia and the Middle East. Bouncing back and forth between our heroes was seamless and every time one took place it was comfortable. The US Marines and S.A.S are fine shoulders to play as and their prowess is reknown around the world. Anyway….big baddy with a nuke. It is your job to stop them before they are used against US soil.

Graphics
You have got to be kidding me. These graphics were excellent. Smooth and they were done with little improvement to be made. Smoke, flash bangs all effects were outstanding.

Gameplay
The single player game was a master piece. My only wish was that it was longer, I know the bread and butter of this game goes towards multi-player. I want more single player, it was too good to be over. The game was very compelling, when some cut scenes you were still an active participant and not just watching things pass you by it was awesome. It was a great book game that was written very well and did not have the usual…I saw that coming remark blabbing from my mouth. Multiplayer games were so fun and had me clinching my controller producing white knuckles. The use of a progressive tree of unlocking abilities is not very new but it was done nicely and it tugged me along by the shirt collar to reach next rank…over and over again. Not only can you unlock weapons but items for your weapons. The quicker you can get rid of the iron sites the better. One of my most favorite perks allows you to pull out your hand gun and give the enemies one last burst of rounds to them, vengence is sweet.

Replayability
Multiplayer here is key. It will have you coming back again and again just to blow into those poor souls on the net. I think all the kiddies are still playing Halo 3 so the team chatter was nice and was not riddled with a bunch of assholes. My one big bitch though is that there is no achievements to be unlocked in multiplayer. You have to get them all in the single player portion of the game, thats fine if veteran level wasn’t such a bitch. I gave up shortly into the game trying it on this level. Good luck to all who can unlock them all.
