With the game coming out this week for the PS3 and the Xbox 360. I wanted to play the demo and give you my thoughts. Going into the game I didn’t think I would really be interested in getting the game, the whole metro-sexual hero usually keeps me away.
I was very please to see a more rugged look to the main character. There was two different modes in the demo a 10 minute timed mode that had you getting to one end to the other while killing lots of demons on the way. The other mode was a boss battle.
The time mode has a bit of a puzzle feel to it, which was alright and not overbearing. One thing that I found annoying was the forced camera angles which at times had me yelling at the screen. In one part, I was heading down the stairs and the camera angle changed, while usually not a big deal, it forced me to change which way I was pushing on the stick to continue my straight line…needless to say I didn’t like it. On a plus side, the environment was stunning to say the least, wow, epic. It had the feel of Gears of War without all the bullet holes.
The boss battle mode was epic. If all the other boss mobs look as great, it would be a real treat just to play the game for the boss fights. If you’re a Devil May Cry fanboi…this is a purchase for you. If you aren’t then you should get it from Gamefly and maybe even keep it.
