mass-effect-15-hours-in-review

My belly is still full from Thanksgiving and my eyes are bleeding with an overload of gaming this weekend. Mass Effect came in from my Gamefly account only 2 days after release. I was very thankful for the great speed of delivery. I can tell you now I really should have bought this game and I still may. You may have read this before, but Bioware attempted to make an epic game and they delivered. It is not a flawless game but it sure is entertaining.

The Graphics are outstanding and I challenge anyone to make a statement otherwise. There is even an option for a grainy appearance to the screen. The default is on. This really makes the game appear as if it is an interactive movie. The main character in the game is customizable and gets you into the game being vested in your character. The facial animations and speech are second to none.

Gameplay is really my biggest beef, although a small one. I either suck at combat horrible or the combat system on veteran is as hard as a pair of steel balls. Save and save often. The vehicle in the game that you drive around on planet just doesn’t seem like it has a whole lot of weight to it. Maybe all the planets I have been on so far have the same reduced gravity as the moon. The learning curve to maneuver this vehicle does seem a bit steep as the controls really don’t seem that natural to me. I did get used to them and the did become functional.

Replay ability is through the roof with this title. I am really enjoying the story and will not have any problem going through the game playing a meany as opposed to the goody 2 shoes chick I’m playing now.

So far this game is a must buy for anyone who has a 360, enjoys a good story and is an RPG fan. I will do a full review after the games conclusion.
