The Story
This game goes right along with the movie, the story line and the characters follow the block buster movie of summer of 2007. The Xbox 360 version gives you the choice of playing the Auto-bot or the Decepticon sides of the story. Of course the Auto-bots are trying their best to save humanity and protect Sam and the Decepticons are hell bent on destruction.
Graphics
The Graphics are a typical of a movie port to the consoles. They are o.k. with nothing really stellar to report. Although the transformations in the game are great to look at and smoooth as silk. Going from one form to the other is seamless and enjoyable to look at.
Gameplay
Some of the items in the game I have a beef with. Every time I got to a boss, I couldn’t use any of the cool weapons that the robots had as their arsenal. It seems you were always locked in hand to hand combat or had to throw objects at the boss in order to defeat them. The other item may seem trivial to others. When climbing buildings the animation was far from fluid and was very seemed like it should have been easy tweak for the programmers. While driving there was a bit of a learning curve that I questioned. At this point in gaming evolution it should be rather easy to have driving a vehicle in the streets to be rather basic and simple to program.
Fun
This game is fun. I did enjoy playing it and enjoyed playing it more with my kid. Is this a game for the hard core gamer? NO. Is this a game a father and son can enjoy playing together on the weekends? Yes. It is not a multi-player game and the controls will have to be shared.
Buy or Rent
Gamefly it. You will have this game for longer than a week so the standard rental will not do. Get it through Gamefly and hold on to it for a month, play the hell out of it and get the next game. If you just love everything Transformers….buy it. Be a fan boy. The Transformers franchise deserves fan boys.
