By now everyone knows that I’m all ga-ga for Yahtzee Croshaw’s video reviews and his sharp to the point wit, but today I stand in awe of the man. In his review of Turok, he goes on to explain the seven steps to creating a good FPS game (seven is a special number to me since there are Seven Steps to Hell, but I digress). During his rant, he hits on a few things that are very dear to my heart.
The first of which is a picture and reference to Space Marines from Warhammer 40k (the game that Starcraft is based on). Having worked for Games Workshop for nearly a decade, Space Marines are still very dear to my heart and I have many memories of painting, playing, and selling shit loads of them. The second is a great picture of a black Pug (pugs just rock). The third is his reference to some old games that I absolutely loved, and still have fond memories of what an FPS should be like, specifically the games Blood and Redneck Rampage.
For those three reasons, I salute you YC! Thank you for making my day.
